Utavie is an AI karaoke scoring service you can use right in your browser — no app install required. We built and run it with the goal of "creating a place where you can casually practice and score your singing at home, without going to a karaoke box." Through features like pitch visualization, vocal range tests, practice menus, and score history, we support the daily practice of anyone who wants to sing better.
The pitch detection and scoring engine we use is built in-house. Voice analysis is designed to run inside your browser, so your raw microphone recording is never sent to or stored on our servers (your score results are only saved to our servers if you're logged in and using history sync — see the Privacy Policy for details).

Articles in the Singing Guide are written based on insights gained from developing and operating Utavie's scoring engine — how the scoring judges your voice, and where discrepancies tend to occur — combined with widely accepted vocal and voice-training principles.
Utavie's scoring uses a machine-learning pitch detection model to estimate the fundamental frequency of your voice in real time and compares it against the reference song's guide melody. The overall score centers on pitch and combines multiple factors — stability, expression, technique, and rhythm.
That said, it has limits. Mic quality, ambient noise, and device latency all affect accuracy. Because the scoring criteria are our own implementation, scores won't exactly match those from karaoke box scoring machines. Please treat your score as a rough gauge of progress. See the Singing Guide for a detailed explanation of how scoring works and how to use it in practice.
